About The Role

Our Head of Product is a visionary who is also rich with applied experience and is ready to determine what is next for the product. In this role you are expected to:

• Work cross-functionally with engineering and business development to bring world class products to market across verticals

• Be curious, with a strong attention to detail and passion for customer success,

• Takes hands-on approach,

• Work closely with the founder and leadership team to enhance, own, and implement a fully-fledged product strategy and game plan (product roadmap), and

• Move at a fast pace while maintaining excellent quality and a positive attitude to take Amini to the next level.

About You

You will be a good fit if you bring a blend of business and technical understanding, make decisions based on facts from the market, and can implement these quickly and profitably. Additionally:

• You can translate complex relationships and solutions into understandable visual representations and strategies and communicate these both internally and externally,

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning and management of the entire product portfolio

• Rallying internal teams towards a common goal, managing people, and leading discussions and initiatives to move things forward.

• Definition and alignment of the vision, strategy and roadmap, in order to establish the company as a global player.

• Create and present visionary innovations, strategic decision proposals, as well as the calculation of business cases

• Definition, monitoring of the relevant KPIs and control of the measures to achieve the set objectives

• Research market needs - guide the team towards goals that meet the needs of both the end user and business.

• Ensure stakeholders have a solid understanding of the product and its capabilities to ensure company-wide success.

• Manage product releases - Draft and distribute product briefs to ensure the smooth introduction of each new release. Answer questions and troubleshoot issues throughout the release lifecycle.

• Practice customer-centric development - work with clients to understand their unique needs and pain points. Capture and share client feedback with team to best investigate ways to create a solution. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure features and functionality are meeting market needs in new and innovative ways. Report the success of the products and strategize improvements needed.

• Monitor the progress of issues and provide solutions for the development team.

• 10+ years of relevant product management experience

• At least 5 years of leadership experience in an international environment

• Prior experience in a startup or other high-ambiguity environment

• Focused experience shaping enterprise software and shipping globally.

• Versatility - ability to understand disparate markets and verticals.

• A passion for impact and effecting deep systemic change via tech – especially in Africa.

• Great interpersonal and communication skills paired with a high level of assertiveness.

• Strong analytical, strategic and coordinating skills

• You are a leader and an entrepreneur that people willingly follow

• High level motivational skills to work with virtual teams

• Sound knowledge and understanding of both business and technology
