TL;DR
ClimateAligned is looking for a growth-ambitious Founders Associate to help supercharge our ability to execute our roadmap.
The ideal teammate can demonstrate key skills that give them the ability to quickly internalise and apply new learnings in practice across functions.
We value ambition to learn and deliver beyond just years of experience as well as a demonstrable interest in the climate transition.
Our tight-knit team, located in London, is growing to ~10 people, and this core role sits at the intersection of operational and delivery functions.
We welcome applications from people from any background and are striving to create a diverse and inclusive work environment.
We offer the ride of a lifetime in experiencing the early stage startup journey, from fundraising to business development and everything in between!
Why are we hiring a Founders Associate?
We closed our pre-seed round 6 months ago and have been building our product & talking to customers in stealth until our recent launch. The next step is to push our business development & product feature pipeline.
In the next 6 months we will be:
Starting two Design Partnerships with key customers to drive value for them
Releasing our first product to the finance market (at the end of this year)
Hiring a few more team members
Starting to gear up to our next fundraise
There is a lot to do, and while we have the core team covered, many things can fall off the wagon that founders end up picking up. We are looking for a teammate to join this varied role to accelerate our progress. The team and this role will evolve and grow with you, so if you’re ready for an adventure with a mission, consider joining us!
About the role
The ClimateAligned team is motivated by the prospect of going head-on with one of the biggest challenges of our era - climate change and living sustainably on our planet. We believe there are transformational opportunities in the intersection of climate, AI and finance, and want to work with people who are committed to seizing them with us! Finance is the engine of our society and we need it to be aligned with living sustainably. If you want to move beyond climate doom and gloom into action as part of a small, fast-moving, motivated & experienced team, you might be a fit.
The right candidate for this role will find meaning in up-skilling fast, and putting their skills to practice in driving multiple functions forward. They will want to tap into an unparalleled network of industry experts across climate finance and AI, as well as to experience the full range of ups and downs of building a technology business and launching a 0 to 1 product. Success will depend on an ability to seek and structure information in a way that helps the founders to make decisions at speed and at scale - whether that’s creating presentations, accompanying us to meetings with customers and investors, researching competitors or taking ownership of some of the operational challenges related to building a business and a team.
Our promise is to offer you a position as a genuinely core part of the team: as employee #6, there is really nothing the Founder Associate will not get to have exposure to.
Key responsibilities:
Partner with the founders (especially CEO) to execute the operational & resourcing tasks that enable achieving the company's goals.
Work with the founders (especially CCO) on managing the business development pipeline and supporting our branding, marketing and communications efforts.
Work as part of the operations team to ensure everyone has access to the right tools in a productive work environment.
Lead special projects including partnerships, recruitment, and developing product growth metrics.
Support the founders with ad hoc tasks across the business.
Example projects:
Help update and align our company roadmap and objectives with the roadmaps of our core areas (BD, brand & marketing, product & tech).
Take ownership of our hiring pipeline for the next 3-6 months with sourcing, processing and organising interviews with candidates.
Review, update and collate our BD priorities over the coming months and build a simple CRM for prioritising the work of approaching our prospective customers.
Accompany & support the CEO at Slush (startup conference) and other upcoming conferences in preparation of fundraising next year.
Update and refine our Notion content and tooling across the team to hone productivity and focus across the team.
Work with the CEO to get better financial forecasting and budgeting set up.
About you
We’re looking for mission-driven, ambitious, entrepreneurial and high-performing builders to join us for the ride. We care about your ability to deliver great work and to be best-in-class in your ability to prioritise and execute on tasks at very high quality. We do not expect you to be an expert in every task from the beginning as we work in the intersection of several disciplines. We do, however, want to see eagerness to learn and take up new projects, as well as persistence in finding great solutions to challenging problems.

Deep commitment to being a part of solving the climate crisis
Proactivity, resourcefulness and curiosity - you want to make an impact

Proven track record of tackling high priority tasks and assignments
Good analytical and problem-solving skills alongside high emotional intelligence
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Bachelor’s degree qualification
